GroupTrack Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server

The GroupTrack CRM Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server bridges modern AI agent platforms—such as Meta Muse, Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, and custom LLM workflows—directly with GroupTrack CRM.

By standardizing access through the open Model Context Protocol (MCP), AI assistants can dynamically inspect contacts, query sales pipelines, move leads through stages, apply tags, log activities, and manage team tasks using real-time CRM data.

Architecture & How It Works

The GroupTrack MCP server is hosted as a cloud service accessible via Server-Sent Events (SSE):

Authentication & API Keys

Every connection to the GroupTrack MCP server must be authenticated with your GroupTrack API key.

Where to Find Your API Key

  1. Log in to the GroupTrack CRM web app at https://app.grouptrackcrm.com.
  2. Go to your Team Profile page: https://app.grouptrackcrm.com/profile/team.
  3. Under the API section, copy your active API Key (or generate a new one if not yet created).

Supported Authorization Formats

When initiating the /sse connection, the server accepts the API key in any of the following formats:

  1. Authorization Header (Recommended):
    Authorization: Bearer <YOUR_API_KEY>
  2. Custom API Key Headers:
    x-api-key: <YOUR_API_KEY>
    # or
    x-gt-api-key: <YOUR_API_KEY>
    # or
    api-key: <YOUR_API_KEY>
  3. URL Query Parameter (useful for clients that don't support custom headers):
    https://mcp.grouptrackcrm.com/sse?api-key=<YOUR_API_KEY>

If no key or an invalid key is supplied, the server returns 401 Unauthorized with a WWW-Authenticate: Bearer challenge.
