Setting Up Desktop AI Tools

In addition to cloud agents like Meta Muse, the GroupTrack MCP server connects seamlessly with desktop AI applications including Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, and VS Code.

All connections use the official GroupTrack hosted MCP Server endpoint:

1. Claude Desktop​

Claude Desktop connects to the GroupTrack MCP Server over Server-Sent Events (SSE).

  1. Open your Claude Desktop configuration file:
    • macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json
    • Windows: %APPDATA%\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json
  2. Add the grouptrack server configuration under mcpServers:

  1. Replace YOUR_GROUPTRACK_API_KEY_HERE with your API key from app.grouptrackcrm.com/profile/team.
  2. Restart Claude Desktop. The hammer icon in the prompt box will show the 17 GroupTrack tools available.

2. Cursor IDE​

Cursor supports remote MCP servers natively.

Option A: Via Cursor Settings UI​

  1. Open Cursor Settings (Cmd + , or Ctrl + ,).
  2. Navigate to Features $\rightarrow$ MCP Servers.
  3. Click Add New MCP Server and configure:
    • Type: sse
    • Name: grouptrack
    • Server URL: https://mcp.grouptrackcrm.com/sse
    • Headers: Authorization: Bearer <YOUR_API_KEY>

Option B: Via Project Configuration File​

Add or update .cursor/mcp.json in your workspace:

3. Windsurf / Cascade​

Windsurf configures MCP servers in ~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json:

4. Other MCP-Compatible Clients & Agents​

Any client that supports the Model Context Protocol over SSE can connect using:

  • Server URL: https://mcp.grouptrackcrm.com/sse
  • Authentication: Authorization: Bearer <YOUR_API_KEY> or query parameter ?api-key=<YOUR_API_KEY>
